Thermal Aerosol Generator
DOP1100 Precision Aerosol Generator is a medium sized and compact Thermal
Aerosol Generator for use in validating high efficiency Air Filtration
Systems and air flow visualisation work. Oil is propelled through the heat
exchanger using an inert gas (normally CO2). The vapour condenses in the
ambient air to provide a dry dense aerosol smoke.
The precision vernier dial allows the user to accurately and repeatably
control the aerosol output.
The DOP1100 covers the main requirements for the systems filter tester
where both high and low aerosol concentrations are required.

Positive Injection Pump (PIP)
Allows the safe introduction of aerosol to positive pressure
environments. Aerosol is drawn into the PIP at its suction point and
ejected under pressure through a large bore flexible pipe. The system is
provided on a stainless steel stand.

Sparge Pipes
The DOP Filter Test requires that the challenge aerosol be fully mixed
in the system air stream by the time the challenge reaches the filter. In
practise this may be difficult to achieve. This is difficult to achieve if
the aerosol is directly injected into a LAF. The Sparge Pipe Kit provides
you with the tools to ensure good aerosol distribution at the point of
injection. Correctly applied this allows challenge aerosols to be
introduced as close as 1 metre from the filter and still achieve a
homogenous aerosol challenge.
The kit is filled with sparge pipes and fittings of different lengths to
allow assembly to suit the site requirements. Once used the sparge pipes
are removed from the system under test and stored in the easy to carry
transport bag.
The Sparge Pipe Kit is designed to work in conjunction with the Positive
Injection Pump (PIP) family of aerosol blowers. Purchase of the Sparge
Pipe Kit is not recommended if you do not have access to a PIP.

Shell Ondina EL Oil
Shell Ondina EL Oil is almost exclusively used in the UK as an oil to
produce a well defined aerosol for presenting to a filter during a DOP
Filter Test. It is probably the best tested oil in the world from a health
and safety perspective as it is used by Fire Brigades and the BBC in the
production of aerosols. Shell Ondina EL, an extra Light paraffin oil, is
clear and odourless. The oil may be used in pneumatic Laskin Nozzle
Generators or in Thermal Generators.

Sample Ports
Sample Ports are designed to provide an easily accessed upstream
sampling port in your cleanroom or clean air device when testing your HEPA
filters to current standards. The 316 stainless steel plate is attached to
the surface with mastic and four self tap screws after a suitable 19 mm
hole has been drilled into the ceiling or side panel. Tubing connects the
back of the port to the air duct above the filter. A further clip on
fitting is connected to the air duct and this allows a pipe to be
connected such that the upstream challenge sample is taken from
immediately above the filter. The sample port is sealed with a red quick
removable plug to ensure that the port is sealed when not in use. Full
fitting instructions are provided.

Aerosol Injection Ports
Injection ports are designed to provide a simple and reliable method
for the injection challenge aerosol into you air duct. Made from PVC or SS
the flange of the Injection Port is attached to your air duct with mastic
and four self tap screws after cutting a 45 mm hole into the duct at the
point of injection. The 50 mm diameter pipe protruding from the flange
accepts the hose from the Positive Injection Pump once the sealing cap has
been removed. The sealing cap is a firm filling screw cap which ensures
your air duct is sealed when the Injection Port is not in use. Full
fitting instructions are provided.
