Klerkit™
NRS Transwab is a flexible and convenient swab system for environmental
monitoring. The kit consists of two components:
1. A tamper-proof sealed tube containing 5ml of
sterile neutralising rinse solution (2% fill
tolerance guaranteed).
2. A sterile rayon-viscose swab.

• Extended validated recovery time of 48 hours:
Klerkit NRS Transwab Swabs feature an extended recovery time of up to 48
hours, which
means that samples taken out of microbiology operating hours can still be
analysed when
the laboratory opens and will give accurate microbial counts.
• Improved sampling: The sterile rayon/viscose swab is moistened in
the enclosed sterile
neutralising solution to give improved sampling from all surfaces and can
be pressed hard
against the surface to release organisms from any possible biofilm.
• Easy to use: The long and flexible swab shaft allows easy access
to difficult-to-reach areas,
e.g. in corners and behind equipment, so Klerkit NRS Transwab is ideal
for checking the
effectiveness of disinfecting routines.
• Safe transport to laboratory for analysis: Once the sample has
been taken, the swab is
inserted into the neutralising rinse solution. The fluted cap design
ensures the containment
and integrity of the sample, ready for plating onto suitable growth
medium in the
laboratory.
• Consistent results: The tube contains exactly 5ml of neutralising
rinse solution ensuring
consistent dilution and aiding aseptic technique. If required, the
solution can be membrane
filtered to concentrate any microorganisms present.
• Quality assured: The swab and the tube are bagged together and
then double bagged in
fives, i.e. triple bagged, before sterilisation by irradiation, to ensure
that components and
packaging are sterile. Certificates of Conformity and Irradiation with
every batch. 1 year
