PZG Series Particle Measurement System

PZG Series particle counters measure particle sizes and numbers in liquids and very viscous media. The system covers a measuring range from 0.7 µm up to 1800 µm by the versatile use of a variety of sensors. It can be applied to controlling the cleanness of viscose and super-viscose fluids. The device allows a liquid sample of up to 1 litre to be drawn from containers and passed through the sensor. In order to keep larger particles in balance, the system can be equipped with a magnetic or mechanical stirrer. The particle count can be shown on the LCD display where up to 32 size categories can be defined. There are 4096 channels available for displaying the range of particle sizes.

Sensor characteristic lines and measuring lines can be uploaded into the device’s memory. A measurement history can be sent to an external printer. Evaluation in accordance with the USP 23 standard is available. By means of “Log and Show” software the measuring results can subsequently be downloaded to spreadsheet. Direct measuring and filing up by means of the software is also possible. An automatic calibrating function allows the particle counter to be checked and recalibrated at any time.

2 models are available: PZG-3 is meant for viscose fluids whereas PZG-4 is meant for super-viscose fluids and suspensions. The measurment volume of PZG-3 is adjusted by a light barrier in the measuring tube. The flow is pressure driven, while all sensors are in operation. A built-in double piston pump in the PZG-4 achieves a constant flow independent of the media viscosity and the measuring volume is adjusted at the particle counter.
